THE CLIMATE CHANGE HOAX HOAX

“The greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people!”-Senator James Inhofe Thanks to an outspoken American Senator, the world is being set straight on climate change. Working tirelessly to block Al Gore’s Capitol Hill celebration as part of a seven-continent “Live Earth” concert tour intended to rally the planet in cheerfully addressing runaway global warming, Oklahoma Republican James Inhofe speaks with the conviction of a Holocaust denier when he calls climate change “The greatest hoax [more...]

The Cross Hatch Rehash: SPX 2009 Pt. 2 [of 2]

There are certain points, I suppose, when the whole thing feels a bit like high school. Cliques are to be expected in such conventions, where attendance numbers in the thousands—not everyone can go back and party in the same hotel room (though many have no doubt tried), and therein lies perhaps the greatest tragedy of this year’s SPX—the great nightly diasporic hotel room migration. [more...]

A Money Making Online Business For The Price Of An IPhone

Starting an electronic or digitally based online business is by far one of the most rewarding online enterprises to delve into. Just think about it, what does Google sell? No products to ship, no physical inventory to sell. You don’t find their products on the shelves of your local grocery or electronic store. Google simply cashes in through advertisers who buy ‘virtual’ space online. In fact, this niche business by Google has made the founders internet billionaires. [more...]

AEI Interns’ Transcripts in Date Order: Their Own First Draft of History

First of all, I want to reemphasize everything Laurie just said. This is not a new threat, and this is not a threat we did not know about. Saddam Hussein has, in many ways, openly dreamed of mass death in the United States. He has shared his dreams with his nation and the world many times. We also know he has actively planned to do so many times, and Laurie’s book is a rather convincing argument that he is active and successfully implemented plans to do so as well. [more...]

Conference call: Tim Pawlenty and the Freedom First PAC - hotair.com 10/01/2009 We had an opportunity to talk with Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty to discuss the launch of his Freedom First PAC.  Pawlenty says that he’s worried that freedom is being corroded by a “tyranny of a creeping bureaucracy.”  Pawlenty wants to re-elevate the principles of freedom and liberty, including an effort to educate people on their value and to impact current policy.  Pawlenty plans a particular effort to [more...]

Banks Still Love Credit Default Swaps

File this under Same Shit Different Day. I came across this article today on HuffPost: Banks Still Trading In Risky Derivatives . The articles is OK but the links to the Office of Comptroller of the Currency website are great. I found a new report: OCC's OCC’s Quarterly Report on Bank Trading and Derivatives Activities Second Quarter 2009 (pdf file). I am kind of slow so this report may not be old news to most EP people. First, the press release that accompanied the report: U.S. [more...]

Where has the Bailout Money Gone? Good Billions After Bad

Where has the Bailout Money Gone? Good Billions After Bad Vanity Fair by Donald L. Barlett and James B. Steele As the Bush administration waned, the Treasury shoveled more than a quarter of a trillion dollars in tarp funds into the financial system—without restrictions, accountability, or even common sense. The authors reveal how much of it ended up in the wrong hands, doing the opposite of what was needed. Just inside the entrance to the U.S. [more...]

Some Real Estate Points I Want To Share With You

by Paolo Koster Sometimes it is not enough to shop around for credit cards based of what they offer. Go Over All Your Three Credit Reports

September 26, 2009 | By Jesse Hughes In Finance | by Jesse HughesCredits and loans are used by individuals when purchasing their needs. Why Is There a Need to Review All Three Credit Reports?

by Jesse Hughes Much of the purchasing made by individuals are done with the use of credits or loans. You get a car through a car loan, a house via a mortgage, your education through educational loans or just about any other need through the use of credit cards. Gone were the days when you had to carry load of cash to buy what you require. Getting a loan or any other credit for that matter is not so simple. The bank that will issue the credit will not do it blindly. [more...]

No surprise here; FBI and likely other federal agencies abuse the use of National Security Letters. Support the JUSTICE Act unless the Republicans can do better.

I have been railing against the Patriot Act (which is anything but) since its passage and I physically protested same back when AG Ashcroft visited Salt Lake City in circa 2003. Numerous provisions of that Act signed into law by the SOB (Son Of a Bush) were and remain egregious. The Patriot Act assailed our rights on so many fronts, not the least of which was broadening the use of National Security Letters (NSL). [more...]

So How Do I Get My Free Copy Of Credit Report Each Year?

by Andy Zain One of the benefits of being an American citizen is that each year we get a little gift in the form of a free copy of credit report. Instead of having to plunk down the five to ten bucks it used to cost per copy, we can get one free annually. We can thank the government for passing the 2003 Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act and giving us our little bonus. The three prominent national credit reporting agencies are the most affected by the law passed in 2003. [more...]
