Treasury and the Fed should stop lying to us and just cut to the chase. Just devalue the dollar and make our debt payable. Sure there will be massive amount of pain. There's going to be soup lines and massively high unemployment. Why do we need to torture ourselves and hear Paulson and Bernanke lie to us. But wait! There is a reason for everything...

Citibank Will Eventually Declare Bankruptcy...
The US Government can't help bailout Citibank without risking its AAA debt rating. If Congress approves a Citi bailout, it will be worse than the $700 billion given to Treasury/Paulson. Don't get me wrong, bankruptcy is very bad for the financial system. But bailout then bankruptcy is even worse.
