PD Game Ball – NE Line of Scrimmage
by Scott Benson, Patriots Daily Staff September 29, 2009 There is any number of individuals who could have taken this prestigious (cough) award for their play in Sunday’s eminently solid win over the Falcons at Gillette Stadium. Despite what that asshole Mike Freeman says, I’d start with: Randy Moss (Freeman had more credibility when he was lying about his resume ), who came off Friday’s injury list to almost singlehandedly create a Pats passing attack; Fred Taylor, who started on the [more...]

15 Easy Steps To Starting Your Small Business
Yeah, sure it’s easy, and of course, that title is a little tongue in cheek. It takes a lot of hard work to get a business off the ground. But, it’s worth every hour I’ve spent getting to where I am now. When I decided to start my communication and image consulting business, I tried hard to find a good startup guide. I couldn’t find any that had all the steps. So, I decided to write one. So far, it’s mostly just the bare-bones outline (which is long enough as it is) you see in this article. [more...]

Gossip Girl: “Did I just catch you on a walk of shame?”
Oh, the Gossip Girl writers are so cute. This week’s episode even had a theme! And it was identity and if anyone ever changes, and anyone that’s seen much of the series so far already knows that none of these people ever turn over a new leaf. So, a bit predictable. But still: renewal! Change! All things that people think college will afford them, but everyone, including our Upper East Siders, eventually finds out that a change of scenery doesn’t mean a change of self. [more...]

Dirty tricks claim in scone-gate affair
Independent Member for Mount Gambier Rory McEwen yesterday lambasted the Opposition for claiming he had wasted taxpayers’ money on two expensive bottles of wine and labelled it a “dirty tricks campaign” to get Liberal candidate Steve Perryman over the line. “If all that they can come up with is two bottles of wine and half a scone in five years while I was a minister, then good lord that is just ridiculous — they are just grasping at straws,” Mr McEwen told The Border Watch. Good Business Sense: Microsoft’s Free Accounting Solution
To be truly successful, you have to treat your business like a business, and good accounting practices are a big part of that. Yet only twenty percent of the twenty million small and home-based businesses in the U.S. use accounting software to track their business finances. Many home-based business owners’ “bookkeeping systems” still consist of pens, paper, and boxes stacked in closets. Worse, many more don’t keep records at all. They have no idea where, or if, they’re making or losing money. [more...]
